The sun is disappearing.

Days grow dimmer and cold sets in at what should be the height of summer. A family of four huddles in their Texas home, pretending there is another reason the power is out. The parents whisper secrets and agree on the lies they will tell. Gunshots fracture the stillness, dismissed as fireworks.

As each hour passes, the family is left with fewer choices until, as early night descends, it seems the most awful decision should be considered.
